As a child, it saddened me to find a guanay standing on the shore because, as the elders told me, it was there waiting to die. Indeed, some hours later, passing by the same place, I found it dead. However, there was something that surprised me: that calm air of these birds facing their end. I never forgot that standing calmly before the bitter cup of death.
