The elegant Inca tern always seemed to me like an ancient gentleman in a festive suit, gallant and delicate. Subtle in its courtships like the mysterious language, now lost, of the fan, but with straight intention, represented in the daffodils: symbols of respect and chivalry according to some floriography books (another lost language).
